In an interview with the BBC, Iranian opposition spokesperson Shahin Gobadi said, Despite “many defects and unwarranted concessions” given to the dictatorship regime in Iran, the nuclear deal made this week between the Iranian government and P5+1 forces the mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to “retreat” from the red lines he had set in his nuclear deals.
“As the iranian opposition leader, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, said, while circumventing the six UN Security Council resolutions and giving pointless concessions to the Iranian regime will not stop the mullahs’ path to lure and access to the atom bomb; however, even such a small retreat by Ali Khamenei will shatter his hegemony in the Iranian regime,” Mr. Gobadi, a spokesperson for the People’s Mojahedin, PMOI (or Mujahedin-e-Khalq, MEK), and a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), told BBC Radio on Wednesday.
“The mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had always viewed this as a guarantor for the survival of the Mullahs' regime. The nuclear bomb program was one of the columns of the Iranian regime’s survival. That’s why Ali Khamenei had invested in it so heavily for all these years.” He added.
