UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran and Christof Heyns, UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial executions condemn the increase in executions since the past few weeks by Iranian government. The Iranian government has not disclosed many of these executions to the media and the public. Ahmed Shaheed said: “When the Iranian government refuses to even acknowledge the full extent of executions which have occurred, it shows a callous disregard for both human dignity and international human rights law,”
